Ackerman Events provides DJ services for proms, homecomings, and school dances across Nebraska and Iowa — starting at $500. We work directly with school administrators, activities directors, and student councils to make sure every event is safe, well-run, and genuinely fun.
We know that a great school dance isn't just about the music — it's about the whole experience. Students want to feel like someone actually listened to what they wanted. Administrators want to hand the mic to someone they can trust to keep things appropriate. We do both, every time.
For activities directors and administrators: we use clean, radio-edited versions of every song. No explicit content, no surprises mid-set. We're happy to review the playlist with you in advance, coordinate with school security, and follow any specific guidelines your district requires. We've worked with schools across Nebraska and Iowa and we understand that your job is to make sure nothing goes wrong. Ours is to make sure everything goes right.
For student councils: we take requests seriously. Before the event, we open up a song request system so students can submit what they actually want to hear. During the dance, we read the room and keep the energy up all night — crowd games (if appropriate for the event), shoutouts, the hype moments that make a dance feel legendary instead of just another Friday night in the gym.
